www.svbeatrix.com — The website of the Sailing Vessel Beatrix, Kelly-Peterson 44 #276 (1980). Page Category: Electrics

Design requirements were to minimize runs of heavy cable, have good access to bus bars and fuses, keep connections above the bilge, and conform to best practice and ABYC standards.  In Beatrix there are three 4D Lifeline AGM batteries (3 x 210AH) in the bilge below the companionway, just four feet from this fuse box.  Most components are standard Blue Sea Systems fuses, fuse blocks and switches.  The bus bars are made from 1/4" copper plate form Online metals which are cut, drilled and tinned.  The fuse blocks are mounted on a grounded aluminum plate.
