Below is a list of what we did to Beatrix to upgrade the engine room, electrical systems, tanks, etc.  Bold, underlined items are links to photos or descriptions.   

• New water heater (IsoTherm).  Required coolant header tank in engine to raise level.
• Starting Battery
• Automatic fire extinguisher with engine cutoff
• New engine control circuit
• NASA style fuel management system with 2 pumps (1 bleed, 1 polishing), 2 Racor filters (1 engine, 1 polishing), and 3 tanks
• Additional 65 gallon "clean" or "day" tank added to port side (I kept the old tank because it was still good.  I think I should have replaced it with 2 new tanks)
• Heavy duty ventilation fan and new PVC intake & exhaust vent ducts
• Reinforced stringers
• New motor mounts from PYI
• Oil change pump with direct hose to oil pan
• New starboard 95 gallon fuel tank
• New exhaust system: hoses, large waterlift muffler with exhaust temp sensor between engine stringer and port tank  (Vetus)  
• Custom stainless exhaust riser.  Custom fiberglass blanket insulation.  
• Engine "rebuild" 
• Added 2nd 55A alternator for starter battery only
• Replaced original with 2-belt 175A alternator
• Changed engine belts so high cap alternator does not share belt with a water pump
• New engine control cables.  4" radius.  Reversing lever to make throttle lever work right (push forward for power)
• Cut hatch in base of cockpit lazarette for access to "machinery space" on portside of engine (highly recommended)
• 2" fiberglass sound proofing added throughout, 1.25" foil backed foam under cockpit floor (Note: must be installed with hangars as well as glue)
• Engine oil drip pan
• Manual bilge intake
• Flojet diaphragm pump for normal "drip water" in bilge (sucks to the last drop, unlike centrifugal pump)
• Higher capacity bilge pump for emergencies.
• R&D "breakaway" flange for shaft.
• Generator exhaust system (Vernalift waterlift under shaft, Centek Gen-Sep in lazarette.
• Vetus "Fuel Splash Stop" at deck fill and new fuel vent lines
• Vetus "Air Vent H" for top of exhaust water injection loop.  Aluminum stringer added across engine room for mounting of same.
• New cockpit drain hoses and enlarged drain plates in cockpit floor.
• Engine Oil Bypass Filter
