www.svbeatrix.com — The website of the Sailing Vessel Beatrix, Kelly-Peterson 44 #276 (1980).

Beatrix has it's crew, mysefl and Kathy Perkins, sailing for Tahiti and beyond. We will be met in Tahiti by other friends, Judi and Wayne, from Melbourne. After that, more crew is needed, from the Society Islands onwards.

S/V Beatrix is a 1980 Kelly-Peterson 44, a 44' center-cockpit medium displacement cruising cutter designed by Doug Peterson and built by Jack Kelly for fast passage making and comfortable safe cruising. There are two staterooms fore and aft with a comfortable main cabin.  She's well equipped, including a generator, solar power, watermaker, HF radio with email and weatherfax, windvane, autopilot, Garmin radar, dive compressor, freezer/refrigerator, certified safety equipment (EPIRBs, life raft, ditch kit, two dinghys), etc. For my sailing history Click Here.

Beatrix's recent voyages have been to Alaska in 2005, up the inside passage to Glacier Bay and down the outside of Chicagof and Baranov Islands. In September of 2006 I sailed Beatrix down the West Coast of the USA from Seattle to Ensenada, Mexico with 2 friends as crew. Right now I am in San Diego or Ensenada provisioning and doing some into November 2007.

You have to be both experienced in sailing and willing, of course, to help with basic boat tasks, including cooking, light maintenance (e.g. washing decks, oil changing), watchstanding, docking, anchoring, navigation, etc. I would like you to pay your own air travel, documentation expenses, your own drinks, and a share of the food. The main point of this trip is to HAVE FUN, BE HAPPY, and see wonderful things and have a wonderful adventure. I don't have Bligh Complex and assume you don't either.
