Attorney Kent "Mac" McClain (Matthew Modine) is in a lot of pain. After the terrible death of his wife and sons, he can't seem to find the will to live and decided that suicide may be the only option left for him. As he's contemplating his life, old Judge Danielson (Rance Howard) contacts Mac, asking him to take a case. The case involves the murder of Angela Hightower, the daughter of the wealthiest and most corrupt family in town. Mac agrees to defend Angela's boyfriend, Pete Thomason (Randy Wayne), who is accused of the murder. As Mac gets more involved in the case, things begin to awaken in his life again, and he finds himself with a reason to live. Can Mac find the answers to the case, and at the same time re-fund his desire to live?
