Harry Pendel (Geoffrey Rush) is a tailor who’s most famous customer is the President of Panama. One day, Andrew Osnard (Pierce Brosnan) walks into his life and turns it upside down. Andrew is a British spy who is there to discover what the President means to do with the Panama Canal. He believes the Harry has closer contact with the President than he actually does. Harry enjoys being sucked into the world of espionage, so he begins to feed Andrew erroneous tips. He even does so at the risk of his wife’s, Louisa Pendel (Jamie Lee Curtis), high-level government job. Once Andrew learns the truth, it is already too late. They scheme to tell the British government that there are rebels waiting to overthrow the President with the assistance of Britain and the US. Now they have to choose to stop the invasion or save themselves.
