The Hottest State is a story of a young man and his emotional struggles developed from having an unhappy childhood. Being left by his father (Ethan Hawk) at an early age, the sad experience disabled him to place full trust to anyone trying to create relationships with him. The story evolved as he met a young woman who herself has emotional baggages to bear. The woman had been hurt by past relationships and although they were given the chance to finally acquiesce to each other, the union was purely physical. The woman felt suffocated by the man’s tendency to cling fiercely and this left the man vulnerable emotionally once again. After much self examination, the man decided to visit his father in Texas to conquer his own fears. The powerful confrontation will surely melt the viewers’ hearts and will surely lead to their own hearts’ contemplation.
